Music has a way of connecting with us on a deeply personal level. Sometimes, it is the steady beat that gets our foot tapping. Other times, it’s a melody that lingers in our minds or a harmony that gives us goosebumps. For this assignment, you’ll reflect on a piece of music that has impacted you and create a visual presentation that highlights its most significant musical element.

Instructions:

1. Pick Your Music:
2. Think of a piece of music that has deeply resonated with you. What made it so memorable? Was it the rhythm, melody, or harmony that stood out most?
3. Create Your Presentation:
4. Use Canva to design a one-slide presentation or infographic that explores your chosen piece. Your slide should include:

• The title and artist of the music.
• Briefly explain which element (rhythm, melody, or harmony) plays the most significant role in the piece, using at least two musical terms from the reading (e.g., syncopation, chord progression, consonance, etc.).
• A link to a recording of the piece (YouTube, Spotify, or another platform).
• Visuals (e.g., colors, images, or symbols) that reflect the mood or themes of the music.

We will be using Canva for this assignment. Canva is a free, user-friendly design tool.

Tutorial for Canva:

• Go to Canva.com and sign up for a free account.
• Select "Presentation" or "Infographic" from the templates.
• Add your content: Use text boxes to include the music title, your explanation, and the recording link. Use Canva’s "Elements" feature to include visuals.
• Download your slide: Click Share > Download > PDF/Image.
