Answer these behavioral interview questions as if you were answering them in an interview, but in written form using the STAR model. Include all aspects of the STAR model. Your written answer to each behaviorally based question should be about 3 paragraphs long, and include 1. Situation and/or Tasks you were presented, 2. Actions you took (the majority of your answer), and 3. Results (measurable if at all possible). In a behavioral interview, you are expected to use the word "I" a lot. The interviewers are interested in knowing what "you" did, not a group or team.

Your answers should be complete, that is, the interviewer should have everything he/she needs to know about the STAR without asking any follow-up questions.

  1. Tell me a little bit about yourself. Include (but do not feel limited to) the following in your answer.
  2. Full name
  3. Educational background
  4. Brief work history
  5. What you like to do in your spare time
  6. Tell me about a successful project that you led for a previous employer. What did you do to make it successful?
  7. Provide an example from your own experience that shows you can deal with and meet scheduled milestones.
  8. Describe a situation in which you had to work with a difficult person. How did you handle yourself in that situation? What was the outcome?
  9. Describe a work assignment in which you delivered less than your supervisor expected.
  10. Provide an example of a time when you demonstrated quick decision making.
  11. What steps did you take to prepare for leaving your last position?
  12. Why do you want to work for our company/organization?
  13. What questions do you have for me?
