In reference to St. Bernini's St. Teresa in ecstasy, the obvious read is that she is being pierced in the heart with an arrow that represents God's love.  However, if you are a non religious person, this woman is having a seizure.  I have had many of them in my life (dissasociative seizures)  If I were to describe re entry into the body during the event, I would say it is like the soul enters the body like a lightning strike... This piece is a great example of one of the things I love about art, it really is in the eye of the beholder, and we often bring our own experiences and biases to the table when we interpret and analyze works of art

Las Meninas  was later reworked / re imagined by Pablo Picasso.
