The Challenge / Scenario:

As a follow-up to our 9/6 opening session overview of the Major Sporting Events calendar and as related to discussion covering the ever-increasing layers of partner (sponsor) prospects and categories as well as the  “Moser Wheel” and September Sports landscape… YOU are the Chief Marketing Officer of a very large corporation (you should pick a Brand and keep it in mind for this assignment) and your CEO has tasked you to review the NFL action (Thursday, Sunday, Monday) or the US Open Tennis this weekend to determine what YOU FEEL are the most impactful messages that your company could mimic to perhaps build a “comparable” platform when you invest a significant amount of money and VIK (Value in Kind) with the NFL (or U.S. Open) in 2018. Pick one or the other, NOT BOTH.

Choice A = NFL 2018 Kickoff / Opening Weekend

Choice B = U.S. Open Tennis Final(s)

The Challenge: Please select A or B and use specific examples of TV, Print and/or Digital Marketing you see during the Major Sporting Event you select. When watching, you should be looking for effective advertising, integrated, impactful marketing models.  Tell us how you will use this knowledge to build out a program for your Brand next year… What will your plan look like?

HELPFUL HINTS: Start with TV Broadcasts and then consider/research online integration elements, social media efforts, general PR value, sales/redemption opportunities that might be generated, brand awareness, potential to expand the platform, etc.
