Binary signals are analog signals, but they have special properties. In particular, they spend little time in the voltage range that is neither a "high" voltage nor a "low" voltage. Let the difference between the "high" voltage and the "low" voltage be called gap. If a disturbance to a binary signal occurred, that changed it by less than 1/2 gap, would it be possible to distinguish the correct value of the signal? Compare this with an analog signal that has been disturbed by the same amount. Discuss trying to reconstruct the correct value of a disturbed analog signal. (Just a sentence or two.)
