State of the Union & Welcome Address by the President

Members of the executive committee, title holders, members of Ogbor Town Union, U.S.A, to

our guests and well-wishers, welcome. This time three years ago we achieved a milestone by

answering a clarion call to deliberate on how to provide palliative to the people of Ogbor

Autonomous community at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. As you can see that call has

turned into a full fledge registered non-profit organization known as Ogbor Town Union, U.S.A.

(OUT, USA). At the time, we didn’t know what the future held for us; however, we were very

much aware of the challenges facing a newly formed organization and its leadership. Given the

fact that we reside in different cities and states. The elected executive committee made a

promise not to let the union down. Today, I and the executives still stand by our promise, and I

am here to report that the state of this union has never been stronger.

Ogbor Town Union U.S.A. has been granted a 501(c)(3) status by the IRS as a charitable

organization. All donations to the organization are tax refundable. Since our last successful

palliative project, OUT USA have successfully executed other projects such as, installation and

extension of borehole water to Ogbor Health Center (Eke Ogbor), assisted in the advancement of

our cultural heritage during Ogbor new yam festivals, assisted the mother-union (Ogbor Town

Union) during AGMs, and continued to provide financial, economic, and educational

empowerment to the people of our community personally and collectively. Our membership has

increased over the years, and we’re in the process of identifying unique ways to continue to

render humanitarian services to the people of the Ogbor autonomous community in particular

and Isiala Mbano L.G.A in general. The truth is that we could not have accomplished all of

these without the continued support of our wives, sisters, and in-laws.

This is not to say that there were no stumbling blocks along the way, but because we’re true to

our conviction, and our commitment to one another saw us through the difficult times. Now, if

there’s anyone who’s still skeptical about the survival of OUT U.S.A, I’ll like to remind you that

there’s no limit to what we can achieve when our imagination is joined to our common purpose

and needs. Today, as we mark the second milestone to our success story, we welcome all sons

and daughters of Ogbor autonomous community in the United State to register with us be part of

the next chapter in our success story.

So let us mark this day with remembrance of who we are and where we came from. Let it be

said by our children and children’s children that when we were tested, we refused to let this

journey end, we did not turn back, nor did we falter; and with God’s grace upon us, we carried

forth the great gift that is Ogbor Town Union U.S.A. and delivered it safely to our future

generations. Once again, I welcome everyone to our inaugural reunion and convention, I wish

each and every person a happy and memorable convention experience.
