In this applet, they graph the two (2) functions, f and g, and then the composition, h(x) = f(g(x)). What you want to focus on is the slope values found in the upper right of each graph for the given x at the bottom of the window. You should notice that the slope of the composition, h, is equal to the product of the two (2) individual functions. In each example, also see how they take the function at the top of the window and separate it into the two functions, f and g. Share your experiences with this applet.
