Analyze and explain how the author reveals this oppression, and state how the work shows the societal culture (the time in which the work was written) as contributing to the suppression. Decide whether today's culture either reflects a change from the suppressive culture in which the text was written or whether you believe that the suppression remains the same today but is simply masked differently.
