Respond to two discussion post below due tomorrow 6/14/2020 6pm pacific USA time.

The Discussion Topic: The three types of reactions focused on in the tutorial synthesis, decomposition and combustion are all reactions that cause different molecules to form.

In the tutorial Chemical Reactions, they discussed three types of reactions. First, Synthesis is when two or more reactants combine to form a single product. Decomposition, which is when a compound splits into two or more simpler substances. And Combustion, which is when a substance reacts with oxygen, into organic compounds, usually releases water and carbon dioxide. These three reactions involve combining or separate elements in one step.

In contrast, the other two chemical reactions are Single Replacement, which is when another element in a compound substitutes an element. And Double replacement which is when two ionic compounds are exchanged into two new compounds. However, these two reactions differ from the three reactions above in that Single, and Double reactions involve multiple steps.

The three types of reactions focused on in the tutorial synthesis, decomposition and combustion are all reactions that cause different molecules to form. Synthesis is when two or more compounds create a larger more complex molecule. Decomposition is the complete opposite of synthesis whereas this reaction occurs when a large complex compound breaks down into two or more smaller substances. The third reaction combustion is when any substance quickly reacts with oxygen. The substance quickly " combusts" converting to another form of compound element containing oxygen,

While these reactions are all so different synthesis and decomposition clearly being related by being total opposites they are similar in they create new substance equations of their molecules. They are different as they all cause changes the changes they cause are vastly different.

I believe these were included together as they are the most common types of reactions. They also all do not replace or exchange elements they compound all elements creating new.
