That's good Tammy. Self-awareness is looking at one's self for both strengths and weaknesses. Self-regulation also falls in the category of emotional intelligence and it takes some self-control to make this effective. I would think that a nurse leader who thinks they know it all will not hold themselves accountable if something goes wrong. This is considered a lack of self-regulation. For a nurse leader to be effective, they need to take accountability and not attack others with verbal assaults. They would need to regulate their emotions instead of letting their emotions regulate them. Also, a true leader will not bend their values. They will stay true to whatever moral values the job requires.
