QUESTION

comment from post 5

When a child is created by artificial means through scientific technology this is considered as reproduction. A child that is made through natural means between a man and a woman would be procreated. Procreation is done the way God has intended whereas reproduction is done by the will of man to produce life (Meilaender, 2013, Chapter 2) .

A child that is conceived and born through natural means between a mother and father is considered begotten and made through sexual contact and is expressed by love between human beings. When a child is made through science with no natural conception that is considered being made.

I agree with the description that Meilaender used when creating this book using the terms reproduction vs. procreation and begotten vs. being made. Automobiles and televisions are made artificially by man with no godly intervention. Reproduction and being made sounds so impersonal like children are made on an assembly line. Procreation and begotten sounds to me that the child was created through the love of God as well as the mother and father of the child.
