The British architecture firm, W.S. Atkins, was awarded the task of building Burj al Arab. The construction officially began in 1994 with the cooperation of over 3000 companies and&nbsp.contractors (Media Fact File, 2013). The site was so busy in the five years that one could find a way 3500 men at any time working (Media Fact File, 2013). Thomas Wills Wright was the team leader of this project. Wright fully understood the vision of the Shaikh. He wanted to put Dubai on the map of the earth as an icon of progress.
