Consider a highly simplified nitrogen system in water in which only NO3-, NO2-, NH4+, NH3, and HNO2 are the only N species. In addition, H2O, H+, and OH- are present. The reactions that "connect" all these species and log K values for those reactions are given below. Draw the pE - pH diagram for this system. Give the equation for each line, and clearly indicate which species is thermodynamically more stable in each region of the phase diagram. HINT: Solve the 7 equations (to get 7 lines) in the order given.
