Could someone answer the following question for me?
What is the current status of our search for inhabitable, Earth-like planets circling other stars?
A). So far, we have found only high-mass planets similar to Jupiter or Neptune, but in 10 to 20 years we should be able to detect smaller, terrestrial planets.
B). We have found several Earth-like planets with oxygen-rich atmospheres, but have not yet confirmed whether the oxygen is biological or non-biological in origin.
C). We have found a few planets so far that are probably rocky, Earth-like planets, and more discoveries should soon follow.
D). We have detected almost 1000 low-mass planets similar to the Earth, although atmospheric oxygen (a sign of life) has not yet been detected.
