Directions: Choose one of the topics listed below to bring to life using figurative language. There must be three- four sentences that show imagery. (4-5 showing words) You must also include a minimum of one example each of simile, metaphor, and 2-3 of personification. The goal is to SHOW your topic using all of the elements. The paragraph should be at least 8-10 sentences. Time of day as well should be present. Do not announce the time. Commit to a mood.

The goal is for the reader to be able to visualize your setting. DO NOT WRITE WHAT YOUR SETTING IS IN YOUR PARAGRAPH. The reader should be able to tell from your word choice that you are at a beach or that it is the last day of school etc.
