This week's discussion is in two parts.

Part 1

Much of business is built on trust.  In thinking about vertical integration, what are the competitive implications for firms if they assume that all potential exchange partners cannot be trusted?

Part 2

Do some quick research and find a firm that has vertically integrated.  Tell us about the firm and how they vertically integrated.  What advantages do you see from the vertical integration?  Could there be issues with their vertical integration?  Fully explain.
