Do you believe everything you hear during the news, view in the media or find on the internet?  Have your current or future learners lost their originality and creativity to become “find, cut and paste” scavengers? This week’s assignment provides an opportunity to explore these questions.

Use the following prompt to write a 3-5 page essay (page count is excluding title page and reference list).  Use APA format. Use at least three credible resources from the KU library to support your paper.

Describe and analyze the characteristics of creative thinking, critical thinking, problem solving and other processes describing higher level thinking.  (See Martinez, chapter 5)

Appraise and provide evidence to explain how the characteristics of critical thinking might be significant in the development of digital information literacy. How might we teach individuals to use higher level thinking to discern whether information is accurate, reliable and authentic? How can educators nurture original thought and innovation?
