QUESTION

ECG Recognition Purpose: To learn correct ECG prep and electrode location. Students will be able to identify all components of the ECG tracing and...

Please answer the following questions using the data given in the attached file "Lab Group 1." In the other attachment, "ECG Questions" there is the sheet containing the questions and additional information that may be needed to complete the assignment.

1. Sketch and label a normal ECG recording showing all significant waves.

2. Relate the events of a normal cardiac cycle to what is seen in a normal ECG recording.

3. Using the recordings you obtained, estimate heart rate using the calculation method or box counting method for each position (supine, standing, exercise 1, and exercise 2, post exercise). Explain the changes in rhythm you see from the positional changes.

4. Circle and identify the abnormal event on the extra tracing provided. Explain what the event is and what may have caused it.

5. List and explain two additional significant patterns an ECG may show which are suggestive of serious/life threating cardiac problems?

6. What is the purpose of exercise testing of cardiovascular disease? (Think about the differences in the body during rest and exercise).

7. What should happen to heart rate, blood pressure, strength of contraction, and respiration as a subject goes from supine to standing to exercise? What would you look for on an ECG to determine a normal cardiac response? What about an abnormal response?
