 Write an essay that describes how the lives of Americans changed when the nation industrialized. Also, consider the critiques that Henry George and Edward Bellamy make of industrial America, and what solutions they offer for industrial America's ills, in the Voices excerpts "Progress and Poverty" and "Looking Backward." Question to consider: Were their ideas feasible? Also, what arguments do Frances Willard, Charlotte Gilman, and Margaret Sanger make regarding the 'place,' purpose, and morality of women in industrial America? What historical happenings/events are related to these various arguments? Be sure to historically ground your arguments and incorporate excerpts from the readings.
