Florida History paper

For this assignment you will write a 5-6 page research paper that will be based on one of the historical themes presefrom prehistory to the end of the Civil War and must be 5-6 pages in length about 1500-1800 words excluding title and reference page.

Some ideas you might consider for your paper are pre-contact Native American life and culture; Spanish settlement and occupation; Spanish relations with Native Americans; Spanish Missions; British rule of Florida; Second Spanish period; Role of slaves in Florida; U.S. Territorial administration; the Seminole Wars; Florida’s role in the Civil War. 

WRITING STYLE

Written assignments must adhere to MLA style guidelines, including citations and reference page. Your written assignment should be original writing. Remember that you may not use any type of dictionary or encyclopedia (including Wikipedia, Ask.com, etc.) in any research work. You need at least five (5) historically appropriate sources for this paper. Refer to the textbook reference pages for examples of appropriate sources. 

The paper must be in MLA format, including citations and a reference page. Refer to the assignment details and grading rubric in the online course for more specific information regarding this assignment. The paper will be double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font, regular margins. Include a title page with your name, course name, and title of paper, date and professor’s name.
