I would wager to say that what sold movies those old John Wayne movies were American values and manly characters. With that in mind, and closing in on almost a century later, has anything changed since Wayne's time? Aren't the box office hits still selling audiences on American values and manly characters? When considering your response, consider any of the box office hits of 2014 and 2015, how do they sell audiences on American values and manly characters? 100 words

Isn't comedy relative? Let's be honest here, the humor of The Three Stooges variety... not really funny. It is funny if you like your comedy being physical and simplistic and "innocent".
A movie like Legally Blonde is humorous because it is the story of the simpleton beating the "better" people at their own game. Comedy does not have to be of the Stooges variety all the time or of the Andy Griffith variety, either. Yes, there are plenty of examples of that sort of humor from Dumb and Dumber to Father of the Bride. But, then there is also dark humor like Heathers or stoner humor like any of the Cheech and Chong movies or there's obnoxious sophomoric humor like this is the End. And then there is Queen Latifah in Taxi and Last Holiday... hilarious! Not all people will find all sorts of comedy humorous. Luckily, there all types of comedies to pick from. So, comedy... relative? Ideas? Thoughts? 100 words
