Hello, I'm trying to make this in preparation for my organic chemistry 2 exam. I may use alkanes, alcohols, or alkyl halides of 3 carbons or less as well as benzene and inorganic reagents. I have to indicate reaction conditions, solvents, purification techniques and isolation methods. So far I have thought of using NaSH and NaOH to make the actual trio but I'm having a hard time getting the pieces to fit. I have made a hex-3-ene via Grignard reaction and acid catalysis but I'm not sure how I should add or make the tert buytl group or the double bond next to it. Can you help me please?
