During a crisis, the organization should have a fast and efficient method of communication to be able to prevent situations created by the mass’s thirst for information (Notes in PPT). There are 5 important points in the crisis communication management in an organization. First is the identification of the organization’s key spokespersons that can represent the company in times of crisis and be believable to carry the right information. Second is the training of the leaders and key spokesperson in facing the media. Third is having a established crisis communication team that is ready at all times with the capability to connect to trusted media authorities to be able to maintain a positive reputation of the organization. The same group is also responsible in communicating with the proper authorities for a particular crisis such as the police or the fire services in terms of emergencies.
