Meiosis daughter cells have half the number of chromosomes as that of the parent while Mitosis** the number of chromosomes are same. depends on Meiosis while Mitosis is for and is required for Growth and repair.

During cell division Meiosis is two stages; while mitosis is one stage and daughter cells are identical to the daughter cells. Imagine if all of us where the product of mitosis cell division, our world would be same and boring but thanks to the meiosis cell division we are all unique although we share same chromosomes with our parents.(23 chromosome from mother and 23 chromosomes from father)
