QUESTION

How does meiosis 1 differ from meiosis 2?

Meiosis 1 - crossing over happens during prophase (because there are homologous pairs), there is a separation of homologous chromosomes and the end result of meiosis 1 is 2 daughter cells

Meiosis 2 - no crossing over because there are no homologous pairs, there is a separation of chromatids and the end result of meiosis 2 is a final number of 4 cells

Hope this helps! :)
