It is best that we understand the meaning of social equity before delving into why it is important in the field of public organizations. On this note, we will say that social equity is a concept which applies concerns of fairness and justice to the public policy. In the field of public organizations, social equity allows for the fairness of laws and equitable distribution of public services and the implementation of public policy for the benefits of all citizens regardless of age, class, race, skin color or ethnicity.
In addition, social equity to my understanding is the pillar of public administration that ensures that justice and fairness are served in public organizations. It gives its citizenry the trust and faith in their elected public officials in regards to the proper use of public funds and allocated resources.
In conclusion, I so much believe that with the application of the theories of social equity, it will be easier for public administrators to increase public access to education and other vital allocated resources, and also allowing for the voice's of the public to be heard regarding matters of public interest.
