You will use your focus company to help you complete this assessment. This same corporation will be used in several other modules throughout the course. Answer the following questions by posting 1-2 paragraphs each:
- A manager faces many different types of challenges related to their employees each day. Assume that you are a manager for this company. Choose two specific jobs (sales, customer service, technical person, etc.) and envision what that “perfect” employee would look like from a personality and behavioral perspective.Next, using the Figure entitled “The Big Five Model of Personality” in your text book, indicate the most preferable level for each trait for two different employees. Be sure to indicate what those employees do for the company (sales, technical person, customer service, etc.) and why those personality traits would be best for those positions.
- Next, let’s switch gears. You notice one of your employees has started missing regular staff meetings, has become more introverted and you have noticed their sales numbers have decreased.Explore what types of behaviors could be contributing factors. What are some ways you could attempt with the employee to improve their performance and behavior at work. Support your response.
