In this exercise, you will choose one organism (or research all of them) from the provided list and determine 1) what the formal name scientific name of each Linnean category below, 2) at least 1-2 uniquely derived characteristics that assign that organism to each of the major nested categories within the Linnaean Classification system.  For example, humans are in the Family Hominidae, which, in turn, is defined by bipedalism.

• Cheetah
• Whale Shark
• Grey Wolf
• Clark’s Nutcracker
• Komodo Dragon

You will use Wikipedia as your source for the proper categories and characteristics that define that particular category.  Wikipedia is NOT perfect and in some cases it may be difficult for you to determine the category and/or the uniquely derived characteristics that define that category.  That is OK. This is a difficult thing to determine in many cases. If you cannot figure one category out, move on to the next. You should be able to figure most of them out.
