Introduction: In statistics you must understand the purpose of the research and the greater impact this research has on specific populations. When we read an article, we are reading with a purpose. What that means is that we are looking for key attributes that stand out. This assignment has two parts.
Part 1: To introduce to you how to read with purpose, please read “The House”.
A. Choose to be one of the following: a burglar, a realtor, or a landscaper. Read the following passage as if you were that person and underline key words that stick out to you.
B. Do it again, that is, read "The House" again…but choose to be a different person than you chose in Part 1:A and choose from one of the following: a burglar, a realtor, or a landscaper. Read the following passage as if you were that person and underline key words that stick out to you (I recommend to use a different color to highlight or underline the words that stick out to you).

Part 2: From a research article, we may hear about findings on the news or in a professional magazine. Now you will read a research article, “The Healthy College Student: The Impact of Daily Routines on Illness Burden”, in which you could read with the purpose of a consumer of the information, or a reviewer of the article.
A. First, read the article as a CONSUMER of the article. Think about important author claims and supporting evidence, or basically the information that you might find useful in the article (your take-aways).
B. Now you will read the article as a REVIEWER. Please follow the article review rubric guidelines. It is important you you provide a number and answer for each question, that is, the components on the article review rubric.
