Read the "Firefighter Fatalities in the United States in 2022" report and review, for additional research, the “Emergency Responder Health, Safety and Wellness” web link, both found in the Week 8 Reading and Resources section of the Content module. 

After reviewing the resources and conducting your own research, write an essay to accomplish the following:

1. Provide a background and overview of at least three types of fatalities that you read about in the "Firefighter Fatalities in the United States in 2020" report found in Week 8.  Basically, discuss the fatalities and why the risk associated with the job resulted in those fatalities.  The fatalities will be used to answer the next two sections.

2. Discuss how the Five Principal Risk Management Steps that you read about in Chapter 2: Organizational Risk Management of the "Risk Management Practices in the Fire Service" reading from Week 2 of this class, can help to minimize firefighter fatalities. 

3. Provide policies that need to be enacted in order to prevent these types of fatalities from happening again.  Use Chapter 3: Operational Risk Management of the "Risk Management Practices in the Fire Service" reading from Week 2 as inspiration.  The intention of the policies is to minimize the potential death associated with the act.
