Is HCl a polar or non polar molecule?
It is polar.
Hydrogen has a Pauling value of 2.1, while chlorine has a value of 3.0. As a result, the chlorine pulls electron away from hydrogen, giving the Cl side of the molecule a partial negative charge and the hydrogen side a partial positive charge.
And separation of charge = polarity!
OK.
