It is an oversimplification, but it can be said that Modernist literature combines elements of both Realism and Symbolism.  After reading Eliot's poetry, choose one passage from his poetry (no more than 5 lines) and identify the realist and symbolist elements you notice. You should also note any elements that seem specifically Modernist.
