FINAL PAPER PROMPT 

Over the course of this wonderful semester, we have traced how a tiny offshoot of European colonial expansion evolved into a superpower post World War 2 founded on the proposition that government is of the people, by the people and for the people.  Analyze how at least 4 factors such as philosophical movements, democratic government, revolution, nationalism, timely leadership, labor (slavery and indentured servitude, industrial working class) war, imperialism (domestic and foreign), and progressive legislation brought about the United States.

You are not limited to the factors listed above for your paper. Nor do you have to write about every single one. It maybe your argument that republican virtue or gender played a significant role. 

For example, if you are looking at timely leadership you may write about Martin Luther King jr., Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, Eleanor Roosevelt, etc. The same for progressive legislation such as the Constitution, the Reconstruction amendments, women’s suffrage, the New Deal, etc. 

Paper must be 3-4 pages. Due May 18th at 9:00 am. 12-point font. Paper must have a TITLE (do not title paper- Final Paper) and a citations page with at least 4 quotes from the textbook. I recommend using the textbook for most of your quotes.
