It will be accompanied by a 2 – 3-page critical analysis (one week after the in-class presentation) which must contain a brief summary of the topic but more importantly, analyzing the strengths/ weaknesses of the theoretical perspectives utilized and any data mentioned. You may want to consider if the authors looked at power and how it manifests itself in various situations related to gender, race and class? Are their arguments complete? Is there anything missing from their arguments/research? Is their evidence enough to logically support their arguments? Are there methodological weaknesses in how they collected the data? Could the data they present be interpreted in different ways?

Finally, also include an evaluation of the respective contribution(s) of the other member (s) in your group.

N.B. Whenever a reading is based on non - Canadian data sources you should supplement the reading you were assigned with data from Canada citing relevant text material or outside sources to enhance the discussion. If there is more recent data available, try to add that as well.
