Lab Steps
STEP 1: Research Change Management
- Conduct some brief research on change management, and select one article on this topic. You can use any legitimate online source for your research. I would suggest that you try using the DeVry University Library Services Website. You must use your D# and YYYYMM of birth to login.
- Read and review the information in your article. In MS Word, write up a minimum of 10 talking points. You will use these talking points to take part in a discussion on change management using the Web conferencing tool. Be sure to include an APA reference for your article. Save the file as "lab04a.docx".
STEP 2: Familiarize Yourself With the Virtual Meeting
Your instructor will assign you to a small group for this demo. You will meet with the same group in iLab 6.
- Use SharePoint to schedule a demo date and time for the Virtual Meeting session with the members assigned to your group. Be sure that the time does not conflict with any other groups. The groups will be assigned by your instructor. To access the SharePoint site for this course, log in to the iLab platform, and on the main iLab applications menu, click the Internet Explorer icon (blue "e") labeled "BIS360 iLab SharePoint Site." This will take you to the top-level SharePoint site for all BIS360 sections. Review any announcements you see there. On the right side of the page, under Section Links, click the link for the particular section of BIS360 in which you are enrolled to go to your section's SharePoint site. Under Calendar, on the right side of the page, click the Add New Event link to post your scheduled demo session.
- At the scheduled time, enter your Virtual Meeting.
- Take a few minutes to try each of the following tools with your group:
- audio (microphone and speakers)
- chat
- whiteboard
- desktop sharing
- take turns as the host
- others, as needed
STEP 3: Discuss Change Management in the Virtual Meeting
- After trying each of the tools listed in the steps above, take 15 minutes to have a discussion on change management.
- Each group member will share the information that he/she found in his/her research.
- Display your article or related information using the Share Desktop feature.
- The group will come up with a list of best practices for change management and use the whiteboard to compile this list. Copy and paste the list from the whiteboard into a Word document, and save the list as "LAB04b.docx".
STEP 4: Submit Files to Dropbox
Submit the following files to this week’s Dropbox.
- Lab04a.docx
- Lab04b.docx
- Copy of your change management article
- In the comments, give the date and time of the recorded session you created in the Virtual Meeting
