Discuss your impressions of Goodnight Moon, Guess How Much I Love You, and Where the Wild Things Are. Consider exploring any of the following ideas:

• What feelings did the books aim to explore in children?
• What do you think the author's purpose was in writing the book?
• Why would a parent want to read this to their children?
• How do the words and pictures work together to create meaning?
