HERE IS THE REPLY POST FROM ANOTHER STUDENT:

How do you feel about social media playing a role in searching for potential job candidates?

I think that this is a great way to find out information about a possible candidate and see if they are the right fit for the organization. There are so many different social media sites that people are on now today, and some people leave them open for people to view all of their personal interests. Almost everyone you know uses social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and you can view information about people such as their work and school history, and information on their personal views and what they like to do in their free time.

What could you find and/or use on social media sites, and how would this information play a role in your determining the right candidates for your organization?

You are able to find out quite a bit of information about people on Facebook and LinkedIn. Sometimes people keep their Facebook pages very private and you cannot see that much information on that person, but sometimes if they leave it pretty open you can find out several things about people, such as family life, what they do with their free time, where they are working. Social media sites like Facebook can also provide the candidate with information on our company values and culture. (Lussier, 2016) LinkedIn is a little different because people are voluntarily putting their education and work history on here, and this makes it very easy to see if this person is going to able to do the job that is required by the organization.
