Using the reading about ethics in Chapter 5 of the textbook (Holzer & Schwester 2019, p. 46) and the readings by Frederickson (2005) and Guy & McCandless (2012), discuss the role that government agencies and administrators should play in promoting social equity. Be sure to describe what ethics means and the duties, responsibilities, and commitments that public employees have to members of the public. Provide an overview of the arguments made by Frederickson (2005) and Guy & McCandless (2012), describing what social equity is, why public administrators have a responsibility to advance social equity, and what those responsibilities are. Finally, discuss the extent to which you agree and/or disagree with their assessments, being sure to clearly explain the reasons you agree/disagree.
