This module is assessed through two main components: an Essay and an Individual Presentation, each contributing 50% to your final module mark.

Throughout the module, you will engage with a scenario where you act as consultants for an AI solutions company. Your task is to analyse a chosen market and propose strategic recommendations for expansion. More details about the scenario are available in the “LC6000 – EAP – Assessment – Case” file under the ‘Assessment & Feedback’ section on the Moodle page.

These components are designed to evaluate not only your understanding of market analysis but also your ability to think critically, evaluate and integrate sources, present research-based arguments, and apply your skills in real-world business scenarios.

You can find more details regarding the assessment components on the course Moodle page: Assessment Overview – LC6000 Essay Guidelines – LC6000 Presentation Guidelines

market offers for the expansion.

Evaluation Section: Evaluate the feasibility of the expansion into the chosen

market based on the analysis conducted in the previous sections.

Conclusion: Summarise the key points made in the essay, restate the thesis

in light of the analysis provided, and offer any final insights or recommendations.

In addition to the essay, you will submit a source evaluation form that covers 2 of the sources used in the essay. The source evaluation will account for 20% of the essay mark.

Submission Details and Guidelines:

All submissions must be made via Moodle. The essay should be created using Microsoft Word, and the source evaluation form should be submitted as a separate document.

You are responsible for saving and backing up your work regularly. Use OneDrive, accessible through your UEL account, to prevent data loss and ensure you can access your work from any computer, even if you forget your laptop.

You must use Harvard-style referencing in both your portfolio and group presentation. Cite Them Right offers a free service to UEL students and staff to help with this. You can find a comprehensive guide to Harvard referencing rules through the website. If you access the website off-campus, it may ask you to log in. There is no need to create an account; simply click "Login," then "Login via your institution," and type "University of East London" in the relevant box. You may need to provide your UEL email address and password. Failing to use proper citations and references may result in a failing grade, depending on the specific case.

Ensure you submit your work before the deadline specified on Moodle. There is no late submission. You must submit the work by the deadlines listed in the assessment details section.

The essay should be submitted in Word format (.doc or .docx) to ensure compatibility with university systems. Presentation slides can be in PowerPoint format (PPT). Presentations prepared on Canva should be downloaded as PPT files for submission to Turnitin. Avoid including text as images in your slides, as it will not be detected by Turnitin's similarity report.
