The symptoms may vary depending on the cause. STDs can be caused by viruses or bacteria. . Among those caused by viruses include genital herpes, genital warts, hepatitis B and D, and HIV/AIDS. STDs caused by bacteria include chancroid, gonorrhea, Chlamydia, lymphogranuloma venereum, syphilis, and granuloma inguinale. There are also STDs which may be caused by fungi including jock itch and yeast infections. Other STDs are caused by parasites, namely, pubic lice and scabies.
