Step 1: Research two careers that you might be interested in working in when you graduate. Specifically, find out the following:
- The tasks and qualifications associated with each occupation.
- The qualifications associated with each occupation (i.e., the knowledge, skills, and any experience and education required),
- What the labor market looks like for each occupation (i.e., how many jobs currently exist and how much is it expected to grow).
- Typical starting salary for each occupation in three cities that you might be interested in living (e.g., Corvallis, Portland, and Seattle)
Step 2: In a 1-page summary (single-spaced, block paragraphs), write up the following:
- A summary of what you learned in your research.
- How your education will prepare you for each occupation.
- What about each occupation interests you.
Be sure to cite your sources for the information you find and if text is cut and pasted from a web site you must put quotes around that information.
