Old Testament Discussion

Produce an exegesis of a passage of Scripture.

Choose a story from the Hebrew Scriptures. Say where it is found in the Bible and explain it in your own words (this is the literalmeaning). Then, offer a spiritual interpretation using (at least) one of the three spiritual senses: The allegorical, the moral, or the anagogical.  That is to say: How does it foreshadow Jesus? (An allegorical/typological exegesis)Or, what moral lesson does it teach us? (A moral exegesis)Or, how does it represent our journey to Heaven? (An anagogical exegesis)

You do NOT have to use all three senses; you can use just one (though feel free to use more than one if you want).

Feel free to email me if you're confused about the spiritual senses.

I encourage you to pray through the passage you have chosen (look into lectio divina for guidance on this) and feel free to look at Biblical commentaries for some insight into what it could mean.
