The purpose of this assignment is for you to understand and synthesize project management (PM) tools integration in the context of the project management office (PMO) competency continuum.

Examine the PMO capabilities across the PMO competency continuum, which is presented in the introduction and summarized in Figure 0.1 of your course textbook (Hill, 2013). Then, address, in your own words, the following items:

• Define what the PMO is and its purpose.
• Describe the PMO competency continuum framework and its five stages.
• Describe how PM tools are different from PM methodologies.
• Relate the integration of PM tools to the PMO competency continuum.
• Summarize how the integration of PM tools enables the PMO to achieve its purpose.
