  • Organization Structure - Common Types (Examples : Matrix, Divisional, Functional, etc.) (Chapter 7).  Note organizational structures
  • Components of Corporate Culture (Chapter 8):  Stories, rites and rituals, heroes, symbols, dress, office layout, the way things are done around here, core values, behaviors, etc.
  • One of the following three articles located in your packets or at "Materials-Content-Required Reading-Unit 3" entitled Collaborative Spaces, Transparency Trap or Workplace Spaces.  You may be assigned one to read in class.  If not, you can choose.  You are welcome to read all three of the articles but only one is required.  
    • Balancing We and Me (USED in Discussion Question #8)
    • The Transparency Trap (USED in Discussion Question #8)
    • Workplaces that Move People (USED in Discussion Question #8)
  1. In what type of environment, do you want to work?  Describe it.  
  2. Lastly, make sure you describe why you want this particular environment.  Will it make you happy? Perform well? Learn?

These answers should be derived from your own ideas and from the pre-reading material.  You are required to use organization structure terms (textbook), corporate culture terms (textbook), and conclusions or statistics from the article you read in your initial post in order to receive full credit.
