Respond 250 words and 2 apa citation.            According to Online Teaching and Learning, I do believe that culture may have an affect on student’s performance. These students come from all walks of life. Just like in the article written by (Deprez, 2018, p. 4) the student’s teacher was doing a lesson over fractions and decided to use pizza as an example thinking that all of the students would know what a pizza was. It turned out that not all of the students knew what pizza was which made it difficult for the student teacher to understand what the underlying issue was. It was later reported that these students were newly immigrant children and had not necessarily gone out of their way to eat out in the restaurants. This just serves as one example as to why it is crucial to understanding the culture of the students of where they come from and their lifestyle, in order to best help them succeed in the classroom.

Question Two

         I believe that teachers should hold all of their students to the same high expectations. As stated in our book (Bode and Nieto, 2018, p. 140) that culture is not static or deterministic: but just one way of understanding the differences among the students. This just simply means that there are a wide variety of differences among the students and that the lesson should not necessarily change due to culture. I know that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, but all should be able to set goals for themselves and achieve one step at a time to get there.
