respond to this with 250 words and 2 APA cites no older than 4 years :
According to Judy Mantle (2013) the five principles and practices that deal with special needs education are: staying up to date on laws and policies, selecting highly qualified competent teachers and support personnel, exploring research-based models of inclusive practice and service delivery, staying appraised in instructional trends, innovations, and cutting edge practices and institute a model of collaborative engagement. (p. 341) Out of these five practices and principles, I feel the hardest for an educator to continuedly implement would be number four, staying current in instructional trends, innovations, and cutting edge practices that can benefit all learners, especially those who manifest in special needs. I believe this to be true due to multiple reasons.
One reason for staying current in new teaching trends, if most difficult, is because of school funding and underpaid teachers. Some of these unique cutting edge technologies and different ways to learn can be very pricy. The other reason I feel this one to be most challenging would be due to the different learning levels and abilities of each student. Not all students learn the same way, and not all methods of teaching are going to be beneficial for all students in your classroom. According to Kugler, faculty in higher education face numerous challenges in designing instructional content and assessments, including the limits of brief class time, maintaining student engagement, promoting student accountability for their learning, and achieving the appropriate depth of understanding of course material.
