The classroom instructor plays a huge role in their students’ lives.  If the teacher is not doing their jobs the students will never learn, or advance to the next grade.  Reading teachers need to make sure that they have strategies in place, and that each of the students get the proper guidance to help the students to progress in building upon their skills, the teacher can also target the areas where a student may struggle.  The teacher then can assess the students to monitor their progress to see what reading levels their students are at.  Identification helps to identify the areas where a student struggles, and intervention helps to build skills, and guide a student to become more fluent.   After the assessment the teacher can then see which direction he or she will need to go to meet the student’s needs.
