PEER 1

Good evening everyone!

The ERP systems how it works and functions its benefits and risk. I have always been interested in ERP system since my prior classess. I know ERP is HIPPA compliance. I do not really know if it really is secure but I would assume if hospitals use this system it would be pretty secure because in hospitals files are transported system by system. I also learned intergrating with other systems such as CRM, SCM can help a business to become more successful. I still would like to learn more about the ERP systems but I am sure someone may come out with ERP part 2 with other improvements since technology continues to grow.

PEER 2

The future of ERP, in this chapter is talks about the future of ERP, and the cloud. I know that the cloud is the future, and that most application if not all will be available in the cloud, for us to access anywhere and at any time. When using SaaS or PaaS, we are able to allow another company to run the ERP, and allow us to access the information, we are able to continue our business, and still get the information that we need to keep the company up and running. There is so much that we can do when using the cloud, this is because the clouds are made up of data centers that are located in certain parts of the country or the world, so we are able to continue our business no matter where we are. Also as I have stated it is not us that have to do the work with the running and maintenance of the program and its applications.

PEER 3

This week topic I would like to discuss is back up recovery plan. A backup is an exact copy of a system’s information. Recovery is the ability to get a system up and running in the event of a system crash or failure that includes restoring the information backup. Which comes up all the time I know we always tell everyone on the help desk don’t save anything locally on your computer because if anything happens to the machine it’s lost. I always tell people take advantage of the share drives, personal drive, share point and one drive so all information is not lost. I know my company always have us test disaster recovery I know at least 3 times I month I have to work from home or another building other than my home site to test my connection and VPN connection in our reading also read about moving workers to offsite location I know a couple of years ago our work location flooded so we had to work from home and the people who worked with us that did not have the internet had to go to another location for the 2 or 3 weeks we was offsite it sound like this location was a cold site they was telling me no computers they had to have connect to the network there and vpn back into the network to work.
