Using the information and table given below, answer the following questions?
- What three types of seizures are most related with behavior scores?
- Should age, gender, seizure frequency, medications, and acculturation be included in the model even though they are not statistically significant?
- What is the relative effect size of the different types of seizure?
Research Question: Does type of seizures affect Total Problem CBCL score adjusting for age, gender, acculturation, seizure frequency, and medications?
Methods: Total CBCL score was computed for children aged 5 - 18 diagnosed with epilepsy; the CBCL is a normalized score with a median of 50 and SD of 10. The influence of each seizure type was independently included in the model, coded as 0 = no and 1 = yes for having that type of seizure. Age in years, gender (0 = male, 1 = female), seizure frequency in the last three months and acculturation scores (1 - 5 with 5 being most acculturated) were included as a priori covariates. Analyses were performed in SPSS V24.0; α = 0.05.
