I need help with a journal entry for my college writing 1201 class. The journal entry requires us to read:

Three Voices by Bhanu Kapil, and "My Children Explain the Big Issues" by Will Baker, both short stories are from In Short. I am having trouble understanding the texts.

I do NOT need someone to write it for me, just help me understand what the texts mean? The writing styles are hard for me to comprehend.
